1970
Richard Brian, BusAd '70, purchased Alpha Packaging
Solutions last December and is now president/CEO of the company. He has
closed operations of R.B. Brian & Associates. He and his wife, Sharon,
live in Cincinnati.
James Dworkin, A&S '70, MA (A&S) '71, has been chancellor of
Purdue University North Central in Westville, Ind., since January 2000.
In October 2000 he was admitted to membership in the National Academy
of Administrators. Dworkin and his wife, Nancy, live in W. Lafayette,
Ind.
Kenneth Klein, Eng '70, retired last March from NCR in Dayton after 32
years. He and his wife, Janet, live in Centerville and are now riding
their Harleys all over the country.
Mary Anne Lee, DAAP '70, MEd '75, taught for a number of years on the
college level out of state and then moved back to Cincinnati in 1981.
This year she completed 20 years in residential and investment real estate
and property management. Lee, president of the East Walnut Hills Assembly
Community Council, works with the city to address major neighborhood improvements.
James O'Brien, A&S '70, is a project manager for Casden Properties
in Beverly Hills, Calif. He has been involved with real estate development
for 26 years. He and his wife, Pam, live in Thousand Oaks.
Richard Watkins, BusAd '70, MBA '75, and his wife, Sudie Heitz Watkins,
Ed '68, MEd '69, traveled and lived all over the world as members of the
Unites States Foreign Service for 25 years. They have started a career
as owners of Sylvan Learning Centers in York, Pa. Their oldest son, Jason,
was married last September. Their second son, Bradley, is in medical school
in Pittsburgh, and their daughter, Lori, is an LPN and lives nearby.
Richard Weis, BusAd '70, has worked for General Electric for 33 years.
He began as a co-op in 1968 and is now the senior vice president for quality
assurance at Elano Corp., a subsidiary of General Electric near Dayton.
Weis and his wife, Linda, live in Dayton.
1972
Geoffrey Braden, A&S '72, has been the editor of
"Medscape Gastroenterology," since 1999. He was elected to fellowship
in both the American College of Physicians and the American College of
Gastroenterology last year. Braden and his wife, Barbara, live in Narberth,
Pa.
Robert Green, Eve '72, is the corporate director of employee relations
at Gaylord Container. He and his wife, Patricia, live in Gurnee, Ill.,
and have two grandchildren and one on the way. They still root for the
Reds, the Bengals and, of course, the Bearcats.
Sylvia Minda Hinton, RWC '72, and Guy Hinton, RWC '72, A&S '74, live
in Cincinnati and have a son studying communications design at UC. Sylvia
worked at Shriners Hospital for Children for four years before semi-retiring
after the birth of their son. Since then, she has worked at a co-op preschool
and an assisted living facility, volunteered at an elementary school library,
bowled with a league that provided books for the library and served as
a PTA board member. In addition, she and her husband ran their own business
from 1986-92. Guy has been a retirement specialist for Fidelity Investments
for the past nine years, an experience he calls his "third career."
Thomas Keller, A&S '72, is director of development and institutional
advancement at the North American Province of the Comboni Missionaries,
headquartered in Cincinnati. Keller's nonprofit management experience
includes 23 years in a variety of fund-raising, public relations and communications
positions on the national headquarters staff of the Disabled American
Veterans (DAV). He remains active in the DAV as a volunteer leader and
also serves as a senior vice commander of the organization's Ohio department.
Nancy Lange, RWC '72, was recently appointed executive director of Girl
Scouts of Niagara Frontier. Previously, she was executive director of
Niagara Hospice and won the 2000 Professional Fund Raiser of the Year
award from the Association of Fund Raising Professionals. She also serves
as board chair of Leadership Niagara, board chair of the Western New York
Chapter of the National Society of Fund Raising Executives and board secretary
of the Niagara Educational Foundation. Lange and her husband, Robert Wallace,
live in Lockport, N.Y.
Mary Ann Ballman Lynch, DAAP '72, has lived in the Florida Keys since
1984 and enjoys the benefits of temperate weather year round. She enjoys
watercolor painting and has taken several classes over the years from
nationally known artists as well as the Art Students League in New York.
She writes, "I joined the Florida Watercolor Society in 2001, and
my painting was selected for the Annual Juried Show held in Delray Beach
at the Cornell Museum. My parents, Robert Ballman, Eve '44 and Marjory
Brennan Ballman, Ed '43, are doing well and enjoying their retirement
in Bradenton, Fla. My brother, Robert Ballman Jr., MD '70, is an internist
and lives in Eugene, Ore., with his wife and four children. My sister,
Ethel, lives in Kennesaw, Ga., and works with SAP, a business software
company. I would enjoy hearing from my fellow classmates."
Margaret Farrell Stier, MEd '72, EdD '91, is president of Learning Plus,
educational consultants specializing in reading/writing improvement for
students ages 13 through adult. She also is an adjunct professor at UC's
University College and Xavier University, teaches SAT/ACT prep courses
and does school workshops on learning styles. She and her husband, James
Stier, Pharm '52, live in Covington, Ky.
Timothy Sawyers, Pharm '72, MBA '79, formed his own company, Performance
Managed Care Consultants, in 1999. Previously, he was director of pharmacy
at PacifiCare. Sawyers and his wife, Claire, live in Cincinnati.

William Frederick, PhD (Eng) '73, is corporate vice
president at Photon Research Associates in Arlington, Va. He retired last
year after 42 years of service at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base
and the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization in Washington, D.C. Frederick
lives in Rockville, Md.
Fred Hester, MS (A&S) '73, retired from teaching in 1995 after 28
years in the Grant County Schools and is now vice president of the Kentucky
Education Association-Retired. His wife, Patricia Snyder Hester, A&S
'74, Ed '74, has taught mathematics at Norwood High School for the last
28 years. The Hesters live in Walton, Ky.
Marlene Jenkins Jason, A&S '73, MEd '78, is a teacher at Walnut Hills
High School in Cincinnati.

Marcie Brookner Brean, Ed '74, and her husband, Lawrence,
live in Bala Cynwyd, Pa. Their daughter, Sarah, is a senior at Rutgers,
and their son, Daniel, is a freshman at Carnegie-Mellon University.
Mary Fausz Healy, A&S '74, joined the law firm of Dinsmore &
Shohl in Cincinnati as a partner last January and is focusing her 24-year
practice on the administration of estates and post mortem tax planning.
Healy has been listed in the "Best Lawyers in America" since
1995 and is a graduate of Leadership Northern Kentucky 2001. Healy lives
in Fort Thomas, Ky.
Karen Kraft Kotzen, MA (CCS) '74, works in case management with the Hamilton
County Board MRDD. She has worked in the field of mental retardation for
20 years and is currently involved with a project which promotes art by
individuals with disabilities. Kotzen is also a certified healing touch
practitioner. Kotzen lives in Cincinnati and has an 18-year-old son.
David Schwytzer, A&S '74, is a certified registered nurse anesthetist
who works as a free-lance anesthesia provider. He has cared for patients
throughout the United States and has worked in Ecuador providing medical
care with a team of plastic surgeons, urologists and opthamalogists from
the University of Kentucky and University of Alabama in Birmingham. He
has two children, Andrew, 16, a junior at LaSalle High School, and Kristen,
14, a freshman at Mother of Mercy in Cincinnati. Schwytzer lives in Brookline,
Mass., but plans to return to the Cincinnati area this year.
1975
Alyson Bristol, CCM '75, has been director of corporate
sponsorships for the Boston Symphony Orchestra since last November. Previously,
she was vice president of promotions and marketing and associate producer
for Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, 4th of July Fireworks and other large-scale
events. Bristol began her career as a singer and actress, with Broadway
credits that include revivals of "Mame" (starring Angela Lansbury)
and the 20th Anniversary production of "My Fair Lady." Writing
about her career move, Bristol says, "The BSO is great -- wonderful
people, extraordinary music, sumptuous hall, Tanglewood, the Pops, Music
Education. I couldn't resist. It feels like I'm back at CCM." She
lives in Charleston, Mass.
Lori Bunch, AHS '75, was honored with the Technical Innovation in an
Industry award at the Women of Color in Health Science and Technology
Awards Conference last April. Bunch was selected for her career accomplishments
and her dedication to helping other minority women succeed in health,
science and technology. In 1999 Bunch became vice president at Cerner
Corp.
Sharon Gray, BusAd '75, worked for 25 years in the insurance corporate
world and is now a training consultant. Gray spends the balance of her
time managing a personal real estate portfolio and caring for an elderly
parent. She and her husband love the desert and the Southwest, and they
plan to retire in Sedona. The Grays live in Phoenix, Ariz.
Bernice Coleman Larkin, Ed '75, MEd '76, has taught multihandicapped
students, ages 8 through 13, in the Cincinnati Public School System since
1980. Previously, she taught in Hamilton, Ohio, and was director of the
Learning Tree Day Care Center in Cincinnati. Her husband, James, works
for the Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority. The Larkins have two
daughters, Sherrell, 17, and Sharron, 14.
Jay Van Winkle, BusAd '75, was elected president of the board of trustees
of Inter Parish Ministry last February. In addition to this volunteer
responsibility, Van Winkle is the executive director of the Southern Ohio
Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. He and his wife, Jill,
live in Indian Hill with their two daughters.
Steven Wasserman, A&S '75, has practiced law for 20 years, and his
wife, Joni Handler Wasserman, CCS '76, is a development officer for a
family support center in Cleveland Heights. They have been married for
25 years and have two children, Matt, a senior at Indiana University,
and Dana, a freshman at American University. The Wassermans live in Pepper
Pike, Ohio.
1976
Dennis Connor, Eng '76, is vice president of operations and site general
manager for Bio Merieux in Oklahoma City. The company manufactures, designs
and markets medical diagnostic equipment worldwide.
Shirley Poore Jones, MEd '76, retired in 1999 after
33 years of teaching in Kentucky and Florida. She lives in an active adult
retirement facility in Vero Beach, Fla., and has two daughters and four
grandchildren.
1977
Dennis Demoss, Eng '77, and his wife of 24 years, JoAnn,
have four children and live in Barrington, Ill. He writes, "I am
still working at my co-op company, Sargent and Lundry. I still have them
fooled! God has been good to me, and my family and I give him and UC all
the credit."
Mark Inzetta, BusAd '77, was named vice president and assistant general
counsel last January for Wendy's International, corporate/ Canada. Inzetta
has achieved national prominence for his volunteer work in law surrounding
children and parental issues. He has held a leadership position on the
Ohio Supreme Court Task Force on Family Law and Children, the Ohio Child
Support Guidelines Council, Parents and Children for Equality and the
Children's and Parents' Rights Association. Last year he was awarded the
Volunteer of the Year Award from The Children's Rights Council. Inzetta
lives in Powell, Ohio.
Stephen Mastalski, Eng '77, is employed as plant manager at Merisol Antioxidants.
He and his wife, Kathy, live in Oil City, Pa.
Gayle Minard, A&S '77, MD '81, is an associate professor of surgery
at the University of Tennessee, specializing in trauma and critical care.
She writes, "I have been participating in triathlons for several
years and will compete in my first Iron Man next September in Madison,
Wis." Minard and her husband, Don Spears, live in Memphis.
Timothy Trachsel, CAS '77 &'78, has started his own professional
construction consulting firm, The T2 Group. Previously he worked for Turner
Construction for 20 years and for North American Properties for nearly
five years. Trachsel and his wife, Anna, live in Cincinnati and have four
daughters.
1978
Sammy Catania, A&S '78, and his wife, Roberta Rocco, DAAP '77, live
in Cleveland. He works for Cantania Investment and she for M.B.N.A. Bank.
Thomas Holzer, Eng '78, is the deputy chief systems engineer at the National
Imagery and Mapping Agency in Reston, Va. Holzer lives in Fairfax.
Brian McMurray, MD '78, is a full-time emergency physician and a clinical
assistant professor at Vanderbilt University. He also has volunteered
as a medical missionary to Ukraine, traveling there 18 times since 1996.
He and his wife, Catherine, live in Brentwood, Tenn., and have three daughters,
Heather, Mary Ellen and Carolyn.
James Schooler, MEd '78, retired in 1994 from Sinclair Community College
in Dayton as a professor of manufacturing engineering technology. He lives
in Dayton.

Mark White, BusAd '79, writes, "Since graduating
from UC and receiving my MBA from Miami University, I have been with three
companies, Unisys Corp., Cadence Design Systems and Lucent Technologies."
White has lived in Michigan, Pennsylvania, California, England and now
New Jersey. He is married to Pamela Butterfield and has three children,
Alex, 14, and twins, Stefan and Elizabeth, 10.
